In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Praised be Allah, the Lord of the Universe, peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Prophet Muhammad, his companions, his kin, and his followers until the Date of the Last Judgment.
Islam is the last Message of Allah on the face of the Earth for humankind. Islam is the religion of all Prophets and Messengers of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them, since Adam to Muhammad.
Islam is the humble submission to Allah, complying with His orders and refraining from His prohibitions.
Allah says: (Indeed, the religion, in the sight of Allah, is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in taking account). 03:19.
Allah further says: (And whoever desires other than Islam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the unfortunates). 03:85.
Allah further says: (Our Lord, and make us Muslims in submission to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation in submission to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful). 02:128.
Allah further says: (When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit’, he said “I have submitted in Islam to the Lord of the worlds! And Abraham instructed his sons to do the same and so did Jacob, saying, ‘O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims, or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, ‘What will you worship after me?’ They said, ‘We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac – one God. And we are Muslims in submission to Him). 02:131-133.
Abdullah Ibn Ômar, be Allah satisfied with him, reported that the Prophet, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘Islam is based on five principles. The first of all is for us to testimony that there is no other deity besides Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger; the second is the practice of the prayers; the third is the payment of the social tax (zakah); the fourth is the pilgrimage to the House of Allah (in Makka); and the fifth is observing the fast in the month of Ramadan.’ (Bukhari and Muslim).
The principles of Islam are:
First: To testimony that there is no other deity worthy of adoration besides Allah, and that Muhammad, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, is the Messenger of Allah;
Second: To comply with the five daily prayers;
Third: To pay the tax (Zakah);
Fourth: Fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan;
Fifth: Pilgrimage to the House of Allah in the city of Makkah, for those who may do so (physically and financially). Once in life.
The principles of the faith are:
First: The faith in Allah (single God);
Second: The faith in His angels;
Third: The faith in the celestial Books;
Fourth: The faith in the Messengers;
Fifth: The faith in the Date of the Last Judgment;
Sixth: The faith in the predestination, for good and for bad.
Faith is: to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His Messengers, in the Date of the Last Judgment, and in the predestination, for good and for bad, as well as in all that was informed to us on the knowledge of unknowable things, of the fundamentals of the Religion, of all the distinguished theologians of the past agreed to, fully conforming to the orders of Allah and complying with, obeying and following the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon the prophet and Messenger of Allah, his kin, his companions, and his followers until the Date of the Resurrection.
